I was so shocked to look at the obits and see Verna. My husband called her "firecracker". In Oct. of '07 my husband had a massive stroke. When he was sent to HealthSouth Verna was one of the ladies that set him up in his room. He named her firecracker the first night. She was so sweet to him. There is no doubt in my mind she being the one that was his first contact there made a big difference. Not only the first day but up until he came home. At times like that it's hard to adjust but she was a friend from the first minute. My heart goes out to you and the family, friends, and I'm sure many, many, patients that she touched. We will be thinking of you all. Love and prayers, Dinah and Randy Dailey West Hamlin WV

I worked with Verna at Healthsouth and I will miss her terribly. We still kept in touch from time to time. My deepest sympathy goes out to her son Lee whom she loved so very much. May you find some comfort in knowing that every time she spoke of you there was love and joy all over her face. May GOD be your strength in the upcoming days.
