Jerry G. McFannJerry G. McFann, 71, of Lesage, WV, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009, with his loving family surrounding him. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Simon Morrison and brother-in-law, Pastor John Arnold. Burial will be in Greenbottom Cemetery. Jerry was born February 12, 1938, in Cabell County, a son of the late Don W. and Inez Rider McFann. He was also a lifelong farmer on his two farms. He was a member of Mount Union Missionary Baptist Church. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion, Barboursville. He worked 42 years at Inco/Special Metals. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Betty Barbour. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Leona Arnold McFann; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rod and Teresa McFann of Lesage, Rick and Alisa McFann of Lesage, and Jason and Lavonna McFann of Glenwood; one daughter and son-in-law, Melodie and Dean Morris of Arlington, TX; nine grandchildren, Brandie, Breyanna, Christopher, and Ryan all of Lesage, Josh, Jakeb, and Linzie, all of Glenwood, and Kristen and Katie of Arlington, TX; and one great-grandchild, Gracelyn Shae McFann of Lesage. Jerry loved his children, grandchildren, and his great-granddaughter very much. Special thanks to Tri-State Dialysis, Life Ambulance, and Hospice of Huntington. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Veteran's Honor Guard, Huntington, WV. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. My Grandpa, Jerry G Mcfann was a honest, hard working kind of man. He was also a Loving grandpa to me (Josh Mcfann). We did alot of stuff togather on both of the Farms. I miss him every second of everyday he still means the world to me and always will! And my grandmaw Leona Mcfann is a wonderful woman to and took very good care of her husband. Leona my grandma is a very sweet and loving woman! She also means the world to me! But we will meet again! I Love and miss you very much Papaw! <3

I never met Mr. McFann, but I am a Dispatcher for Life Ambulance, and I have talked to his family many many times. All of us at Life are very sorry for your loss, and we wish your family our deepest condolences. We are very pleased to have had Jerry as a patient, and we will miss him dearly. May he rest in eternal peace.
