I spent many weekends and summers next door to Buddy and Violet. They lived next door to my grandparents, Harold and Teenie Hawkins.
This is a shock, I didn't think Buddy was sick or anything. My deepest sympathies to Violet and the rest of the family.

Our families have been friends for many, many years. We go way back to the days when you lived in Whitesville. I think of all of you so often and it saddens me to see the passing of a gentle giant in my eyes. I adored and admired not only Buddy, but all of the family and I will always remember the good times we had together especially the peanut butter and syrup sandwiches Ms. Violet made us.
My prayers are with you at this difficult time and I pray you will find strength and courage in the Lord.
Always,
Carmen Averson Cooksley
