Lester "Pete" Bowen Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1920 - 2009 Lester Pete Bowen, 88, of Huntington, WV, passed away Sunday September 13, 2009 at St. Marys Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Richard Cremeans. Entombment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born December 31, 1920 in Huntington, a son of the late Irvin and Inez Black Bowen. He was a veteran of the US Army, and served during WW II, and was also a member of the V.F.W. #9738, Huntington. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucille Copley Bowen; one daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Bobby Evans of OH; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Dee Bowen of Ona, and Larry Dean and Mary Bowen of Huntington; three sisters, Shirley Neal and Sylvia Ferrell, both of Ona, and Georgia Farris of Huntington; brothers, Richard Bowen of MI and Donald Bowen of Ona; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Military graveside services will be conducted by the V.F.W. # 9738. Dear Aunt Lucille, I am sorry about uncle Pete. Wish I could be there to hug you. He will surely be missed by the remaining family but surely will be welcomed by the family that has already went ahead.
