Gordon Hargis, 61, of Ona, WV, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009. He was born January 4, 1948 in Logan, WV, a son of the late Henry Hargis and Clara Irene Hall Hargis. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother who raised him, Mae Robertson. He was a retired employee of ACF Industries. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Scott and Patricia Hargis of Columbus, OH; his companion of twenty years, Wilma McCallister; two stepsons and their wives, Dale and Lisa McCallister, Michael and Mary McCallister, all of Barboursville; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Lisa and Doss Adkins, Teresa and Lee Jenkins, all of Barboursville; two grandchildren, Brendan and Nina Hargis; nine stepgrandchildren; one step great grandson; and a special friend, John VanOotegham. There will be no visitation or services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709.
