Grover Fortner, Sr., 91 of Huntington, WV, went to be with his Lord on December 10, 2009 at Huntington Health & Rehab. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel Barboursville, by Rev. Tommy Jeffrey. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Grover was born August 21, 1918 in Wayne County, a son of the late Wayne and Nancy Ann Moore Fortner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Damron Fortner; son, Jerry Dale Fortner; three sisters, Eva Marcum, Myrtle Fortner Napier and Zallia Fortner; and two brothers, Earl Fortner and Wayne Fortner. He is survived by one daughter Nancy Rooker and one son, Grover Fortner, Jr. both of Huntington; four granddaughters; two grandsons; three great-granddaughters; two sisters, Mary Thompson and Janie Barker and one brother, Lawrence Fortner; several loving nieces and nephews. Grover retired from T.T.A. and with many years of service with the Ohio Valley Bus Company and T.T.A. A loving thanks to the 4th Floor of Huntington Heath and Rehab and Hospice of Huntington.
