LOLA TURLEY, 80, of Salt Rock, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Alberta Adkins. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Alton, Austin, Lace and Cecil Adkins; and three sisters, Regina Adkins, Thressa Christopher and Virgie Baker. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Masil Turley. She was the mother of three sons, Franklin "Lanny" Turley, who passed away Dec. 12, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Glenville David (Brenda) Turley of Salt Rock and Kenneth Myron Turley (Cheryl Carroll) of West Hamlin; one daughter, Karen (Mike) Ray of Huntington; sisters, Carrie Pratt of Huntington, Virginia Adkins of Barboursville, Evelyn Ramey of Athela, Ohio, Elizabeth Hadley of Harlingon, Texas, and Patricia Bowen of Richmond Hills, Ga.; five grandchildren, JD, Kenneth, Regina, Cristina and Lisa; seven great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Matthew, Makayla, Kadence, Colton, Owen and Gracie. She left behind a host of nieces and nephews. She also left behind very special friends and neighbors, Jimmy and Fern Childers.

FRANKLIN DELANEY "Lanny" TURLEY of Salt Rock, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center to be with his mother. He was the son of Masil Turley of Salt Rock, and the late Lola Turley. He was the beloved brother of Kenneth, Glenville and Karen. Franklin was the uncle of JD, Kenneth, Regina, Cristina and Lisa. He has several great-nieces and nephews who loved him so much. Those who knew Franklin can all consider themselves lucky to have known such a loving and giving person. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services for Lola and "Lanny" Turley will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Ray Adkins. Burial will be in Ross Cemetery, Smith Creek Road, Salt Rock, W.Va. Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

im sorry to hear about ur loss and i will keep u all in my prayers .. and i wish u all the best ecspecially this time in mourning It is the will of God and Nature that these mortal bodies be laid aside, when the soul is to enter into real life; 'tis rather an embrio state, a preparation for living; a man is not completely born until he be dead: Why then should we grieve that a new child is born among the immortals?
