 Ivory "Connie" Shultz, 82, of Barboursville, WV, went home to be with the Lord Friday at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 27, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Jeff Sizemore. Burial will be in the Dial Cemetery, Branchland. She was born June 3, 1927, a daughter of the late Peyton Staley and Ona Staley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Sue and Bruce Jeffers, Nashville, TN, and Beckie Dunkle of Barboursville; one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Karen Shultz of Salt Rock; grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Norma Jeffers, Johnathan and Angie Jeffers, Jennifer and Ryan Harmon, Matthew and Angie Shultz; Megan Dunkle and Andrew Dunkle; great-grandchildren, Gabby, Ashley, Belle, Hunter, Drew, Sara , and Kali; and her extended family at Cabell-Huntington Hospital where she retired after 36 years in 2004. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to Hospice of Huntington, Box 464, Huntington, WV 25701. Also the family would like to especially thank Hospice of Huntington, the staff of Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their kindness and tender care of their mother, and Rev. Paul Day. I was struck by the beautiful picture of Miss Connie. It reminds me so much of my grandmother. We also are so thankful for Hospice of Huntington. When we lost my grandma we gained much comfort from the hope of the resurrection Jesus promised at John 11:25. I hope you can gain comfort from this also and from knowing that you did all you could in caring for Miss Connie.
