Laura, my heart breaks for you. I'd only recently reconnected with your mother (I worked pt for Talbots, and she sure loved her Talbots), but she sparkled when she spoke of you and jack and emily. Her grace and dignity will never be replicated. I'll miss her also.

When I think of my days in high school, one of my favorite teachers was Mrs. Black. She helped me with skills that I have used everyday of my life - typing.
Latter, as I needed a sub she was very proud of me for my becoming a teacher. She has provided wonderful memories for me, as I am sure she has for others.
Peace Be With You
Sincerely,
Jan T. (Adkins) Kirk - Class of 1976 MHS

My deepest sympathy to your family. Mrs. Black was always so gracious and kind and I will always have fond memories of her and appreciate her encouragement both on a personal and educational level that helped prepare me for my career. She was so proud of her daughter and spoke of her often and I will always remember that also. She was an inspiration to all of us who were fortunate enough to be her students. May God comfort you at this time.

I just learned of Mrs. Black's passing today and am very saddened. I have such fond memories of her as a teacher at Milton High School. I remember especially that I wanted to continue onto Shorthand II and because there were only two students to sign up, they wouldn't offer the class. Mrs. Black gave up her free period and taught just the two of us as she was dedicated to our future success. She always talked about Laura and Jack and even took us to her home for lunch one day. She was a devoted woman and will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to you the Black Family.

Dear Sue, Connie and Harry,
How sorry I was to learn of Judith, homegoing. I did not realize that she was ill. It is tough to loose a sister. The funny thing about siblings is that we may not always see eye to eye on things but they are still our brother or sister no matter what comes and we love them. I appreciated Judith and am glad to have known her. I rejoice that because of her faith in Jesus that she is now in heaven with your mom and Dad. I will be praying for you through this time. May God's grace be sufficent.
Sorrowfully

I was saddened to hear of the loss of Mrs. Black. I was her SA for the three years I was at MHS, and had her in class as well. Laura, I always heard stories of you, You and my brother Bill were born on the same day, and Your mother and mine were in the same room at the hospital. I enjoyed listened to her stories, as she was so proud of you. I will miss seeing her, and hearing updates on those grandchildren. Prayers are with you and your family during this trying time.
