Herman Gay Nicholas, 77, of Huntington, WV, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by the Rev. Jason Black. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born November 10, 1932 in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late Homer Nicholas and Leon Spurlock Nicholas Scarberry. He retired from I.B.E.W. Local 317, Huntington, was a member of Good Shephard Freewill Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda E. Albright Nicholas, his stepfather, Andrew Scarberry, his twin brother, Kerman Nicholas and a brother, Billy Nicholas. He is survived by three sons, Sherman Nicholas and Jeffrey Nicholas, both of Huntington and Marshall McComas of Lesage, WV; three brothers,Gary Scarberry of Huntington, Ronnie Nicholas of Gallipolis, OH and Bob Nicholas of California; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
