Judith (Judy) P. Johnson, 58, of Rocky Mount, Virginia (formerly of Ashland and Lexington, Kentucky), passed away Monday, March 22, 2010, at Carilion Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia following a brief illness. Born June 26, 1951 at Ashland, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Fonnie and Sarah Chandler. Judy was retired after 32 years of service with Ashland, Incorporated. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and caring for her cats, BJ and Bunnie. Judy also was an avid crafter, participating in numerous craft fairs in Virginia and treasured the time spent with her loving, devoted husband, Allen R. Johnson II. In addition to her husband, those left to cherish her memory are Rob, their son and daughter-in-law, Tracy Johnson of Richmond, Virginia. Juey (as she was called by her granddaughters) was the proud grandmother of Brooke and Emily Johnson also of Richmond. Additional survivors include her mother-in-law, Joyce Beckett Johnson of Barboursville, West Virginia; two sisters, Billie Sexton of West Palm Beach, Florida; Rushia (Glen) Reffit of Oregon, Ohio; two brothers, John Chandler of Greenup, Kentucky; Odie (Trish) Chandler of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special mention for sisters-in-laws, Carol Adkins Christopher of Barboursville, West Virginia and Rose Johnson of Man, West Virginia and a very special friend, Connie Hall of Findley, Ohio. Judy is a warm and giving person whose time with us will be treasured by all who she came in contact with. Visitation will be Friday, March 26, 2010, from 6:00 9:00PM at the Wallace Funeral Home located in Barboursville, WV and after noon Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral Services / A Celebration of Judys life will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the funeral home. The Rev. Danny Ross will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

So sorry for your loss. She was such a sweet and loving person. She will not be forgotten. I remember the day she adopted her sweet kittens. We talked often of cats and their antics as I have cats also. I know how she loved you and her family and your family. My heart aches for you.

We consider ourselves blessed to have had Judy in our lives. She was such a warm and loving person who always saw the best in every situation. We will miss NASCAR races with her cheering for Dale Jr., her tales of world travel, and her tender smile. Judy will live on in our memories as not only our aunt, but a friend as well. Uncle Al, there are no words that can take the hurt away, but it is reassuring to know that one day in Heaven we will see her smile again.
