Opal Marie Burton, 79, of Barboursville, WV, formerly of Hamlin, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Midland Meadows. She was born February 2, 1931 in Balls Gap, WV, a daughter of the late Roy and Oma Wheeler Grass. She was raised by her grandparents, the late Tom and Mary Grass, and was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Edward W. Burton, one son, James, one daughter, Oma, and two brothers Larry and Garry Grass. She was a member of Elmwood Baptist Church. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Dianna Burton of Barboursville; one grandson, Danial Burton, one sister, Helen Erwin, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Pastor Rick Glass. Burial will be in Harveys Creek Cemetery, Hamlin, WV. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
