Leola Dolen Matthews Bellomy, 90, Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, and is now at rest. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2010, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by the Rev. Jim Wilson and Rev. Eddie Parsons. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born August 19, 1920, in Cabell County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Blufford William and Sarah Ellen Cardwell Dolen. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Carte Matthews and Herman Lester Perk Bellomy; one daughter, Linda Lou Walk; four sisters, Mabel Adkins, Edythe Hale, Naomi Lear, and Ruby Jane Blake; and four brothers, Basil Dolen, Jim Dolen, Dick Dolen, and Harl Dolen. She is survived by two daughters, Delma Rice and Cookie Perry, both of Huntington; two sons, Darrell Gene Matthews and Timothy Scott Bellomy, both of Huntington; one brother, Rev. Joe Dolen; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation is from 11 to 1 p.m. Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
