 Frank Sorrell Hunter, Sr, 97, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Dallas Moore. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. He was born June 6, 1913, in Matewan, WV, a son of the late Richard Mont and Cora Francis Hunter. He was a retired employee of C & O Railroad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Hunter and one son, Frank Skeeter Hunter, Jr., one granddaughter, Gina Terry, great-granddaughter, Melissa Terry. He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Cartmill, of Barboursville, and Joyce (Chris) Simpson, of Huntington; one son, James A. Jim (Beth) Hunter of Angier, NC; one sister, Melvina Lewis, Ypsilanti, MI; six grandchildren, Randy Johnson, Melody Hall, Jim Hunter, Mont Hunter, Brandi Mckeating and Tiffani Pendleton; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was a very active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Hutington, where he served on the Church Board and taught Sunday School. He was also on the first Barboursville Housing Authority Board. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
