Bernice Pauline HazeletteBernice Pauline Hazelett, 63, of Ona, WV, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2010, after her courageous battle with cancer. Bernice was born on April 29, 1947, to the late Lewis H. Sr. and Pauline Childers. She was also preceded in death by her husband Gordon Hazelett and one daughter, Cathy Lynn Clagg. She is survived by her children, Christy Holley and her husband Scottie of Lesage, Duana "Dee" Sargent and her husband Todd of Milton, Paul "Jamie" Clagg III and his wife Trudy of Milton, and Jeremy Hazelett of Ona. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Josh Holley and wife April, Whitlee Clagg, Madison and Taylor Sargent, and siblings Lewis Henry Childers and wife Linda of Ocala, FL, Janet Miller and husband Eddie of Mountain Home, AK, Ernie Childers and wife Donna of Proctorville, OH, and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. Bernice was a retired secretary from the V.A. Hospital Surgical Department in Huntington, WV, and was a member of Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church in Ona, WV. She was known by many for her delicious cakes and baked goods. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church, Ona, WV, by Pastor Paul Meadows. Burial will be in Arthur Cemetery. I am so sorry for your loss, Bernice and I were classmates we started out in the third grade together I can remember spending the night at her house in grade school, Pauline, her mother made the most wonderful divinity candy so no wonder Bernice was a good baker I know she will be sadly missed she was much too young to go.
