Thank you to everyone for your kind words about my father. I miss him terribly, but your individual stories of how he touched your lives have comforted me. There was nothing my Dad couldn't do or fix- from putting in an above ground swimming pool by himself, to replacing clutches and brakes on cars, to helping me with my Trig and Calculus homework in high school. He was a wealth of information and even more importantly is that he would do anything for anyone that needed his help, it was no trouble to him at all. We all have lost a wonderful person, but I know he's in a better place now with no more suffering. From what I've read I can tell that my Dad has met some wonderful people on his life's journey. Take care all and may God bless.

I want to extend my deepest sympathy to all of Dave's family. Dave and I started work for AEP about the same time but in different locations. Over the years I had opportunities to work with Dave on different projects and in different capacities. I always admired Dave's work ethic and attention to detail. He was always a straight forward and genuinely honest person to work with.
I know he will be greatly missed by all of you. I only hope you can take comfort in knowing he has gone on to a greater place with no more suffering. God be with you until you meet again.

Sharon and family, I just want to say that Dave is a true hero to me. When I started working at APCo in 1985, Dave took me under his wing and helped me learn how to do things safely and correctly. He inspired everyone to work hard. His work ethic is the best I've ever seen, and the quality of his work was of the finest craftsmanship. He is simply the best ever. Most of all, I have always admired him. In fact, he is one of the people I would most want to be like if I could. I can never reach the level of Dave, but he would be proud of any of us for trying. He was a great friend to many, and a mentor as well. I will miss him and I will never forget him. He was always a rock in every situation, confident and strong. Even in the last few years, he was tough and he stayed true to himself. He is a hero to me. I pray that the Lord will richly bless you all always, and someday we will see Dave again, in a much better place. God bless you,
Todd

We want to extend our sincere and deepest sympathies to Sharon and the entire Jarvis family for the loss of a wonderful man. We only knew David from his love of sharing his Christmas Trees with us each and every year for many years now. I have such fond memories of his smile as we drove up to go pick out our tree and his pure love of making everyone so very happy this time of the year. He would walk up the hill with us before he became ill and cut down the tree for us . I always wish I could do something which brought me as much joy as Christmastime brought to him. He is now free of pain and in Gods loving arms and surely will be remembered by so very many families with such love and everlasting memories of Christmases gone by. You and he are forever in our prayers....

I am sorry I will be unable to attend the services to share my condolences in person, but I wanted to express my sympathy to Dave's family. I worked at the APCo building in Huntington for several years and retired from the Call Center in Hurricane. I worked with Dave on many occasions and he was such a gentlemen and a job to work with. He was always smiling and always very helpful. Again, Dave will be missed!

I just learned a few moments ago of Dave's passing. I'd worked with Dave for many years; he was truly one of the best at his job. Within AEP Telecom Dave was well known and admired, and he will be missed by many. I pray that he will find peace from his suffering and be at rest, and that his family will find peace through their faith, knowing that they will be reunited with him in Heaven. May God bless Dave and his family.

I had the privilege of working with Dave on numerous occasions during our years in AEP Telecom. He was a quality individual, good and very conscientious in his work and certainly a man of integrity. He was well respected by all who knew him. May the God of comfort be close to loved ones left behind at this difficult time.

I was saddened when I heard of Dave's passing. I worked with Dave in Huntington for about 5 years as a kid right out of college. He was a mentor and a wonderful person. He made me feel at ease from the first time I met him and he did everything he could to help me adjust to my new life in a town far from home. He will be greatly missed. My sincere sympathy to the family and his many, many friends.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of Dave. I know this is a difficult time for the family and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Dave was such a kind, helpful man. He would do anything to assist any of us at work. He had helped me on several occasions in our work with the Telecomm group, and was the only tech that I trusted with aiming microwave dish antennas. He had a knack and a skill that no one else had. I have missed working with him since his illness and I know how much you all will miss him, and pray that you draw on the strength of family, church friends and our Lord Jesus during these times. I pray for comfort and peace for all the family that Dave leaves behind and know on that final day we will see him again in Glory. God bless.

I worked with Dave for several years after AEP closed the Huntington office and he came to Charleston. He was a hard worker, a man of integrity and a good friend. Sharon, my prayer for you and the entire Jarvis family is that God's love and comfort will be evident now, and for the days ahead.
