
Burman E. Clagg, 72, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, of cancer. He fought the battle for five years. He was born March 23, 1938 in Putnam County, a son of the late George and Garnett Cremeans Clagg. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kelson and Howard Clagg and two sisters, Violet Rayburn and Lula Nibert. He was a US Navy Veteran and served on the USS LST 1134. He was retired from the Cabell County School Board. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Erwin Clagg of 50 years and one daughter, Carolyn Gibson of Fraziers Bottom, WV; three sons and their spouses, Bob and Kelli Clagg of Proctorville, OH, David and Karen Laney of Milton, and Rodney and Melinda Adkins Clagg of Ruther Glen, VA; grandson, Mason Clagg; two granddaughters, Cindy and Reagan Clagg; two great- grandsons, Matthew Hicks and Alex Antzses; one sister, Ruth Alberts Burks. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Jason Black. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington.
