1928 - 2010
...Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices: my body also will rest secure, because You will not abandon me to the grave. Psalm 16:9. Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Erma J. Reed, died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 30 having battled Alzheimers disease for the past five years. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 2, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Barboursville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Julia Bolling officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Erma was born May 25, 1928 in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Okey H. and Lena M. Wendler. Her loving husband, David S. Reed, also preceded her in death. She leaves behind many who will love and cherish her forever. She and her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Stephen Jacobson, traveled together on many occasions. We are thankful to them for all these many times. Mom leaves behind children, David C. Reed and his wife Susan, Linda M. Hahn and her husband Robert, Becky J. Warden and her husband Rod. Mom loved and cherished her grandchildren and leaves behind David C. Reed II, Matthew S. Reed, Rachel J. Torlone, and James A. Swann and his wife Heather. Jay, you were especially caring and we appreciate everything you did for Mom. Many knew mom by meeting her at Sears where she worked for 26 years. She gained many friendships while working there. She later volunteered at St. Marys for many years following retirement. We would also like the staff at Midland Meadows to know we appreciate all the love and care given to mom during her 4 year stay there. Friends can visit at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2011, and after 1 p.m. at the church on Sunday. Mom, we are thankful for all the love and care you gave, and will cherish you until we join you again. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, West Virginia Chapter, 1111 Lee Street East, Charleston, WV 25301 or to the Barboursville First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 293, Barboursville, WV 25504. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Dear Dave, Linda and Becky. I only have fond memories of Dave and Erma. I use to baby-sit all three of you, I worked at Banks-Miller with Dave, while finishing Business School. She was always friendly, kind, and lovely smile.
Sorry for your loss. Tell Sharon I'm sorry for her loss, would love to hear from her. We made some trips together also.
Sincerely,

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I met Erma when I worked with Steve and Sharon at the Princes Shop. I had the pleasure of going on a trip to NYC with her. She was so full of life and always had a smile.
