Your father and mother were so encouraging during the years after my parents divorce. Mom and my siblings and I attended Eastwood for a time during the early 80's. Ann was such a gracious and friendly woman. Your dad was a good man, he loved the Lord. As you all wait for THAT day when all parting is past, may the memories of your parents give you comfort.

I am so sorry I was unable to attend the services for your dad. He introduced many of us to Christ in the early years of our lives. Without his sunday school teaching at Baptist Temple, who knows how things may have been different for all of us. One thing for sure I know, without a doubt, when I woke this morning and thought of Bill, I knew he was with God and is happy to be in his presence. I remember many times in his sermons he would say he was excited to go home. May God bless the family and friends who loved him dearly.

I wanted to send my condolences to Karen, Trish and Marsha. Your Dad touched so many lives through the years. The wonderful memories that so many of us have from the Eastwood Baptist days will never be forgotten. Although many of us have moved away from Huntington, those life-long lessons that we were taught by your father will always be with us in our hearts. I can hear the Lord saying to him "Well done my good and faithful servant". I know that because of Bill I will someday be in heaven too.

As a little boy I was introduced to Jesus Christ sitting in a basement of a church members' house in the early beginings of Eastwood Baptist. As I sat there listening to Bill preach about Jesus I had no idea of how this sermon would change my life. A few years later he held my hand (while I was standing on a milk crate) and baptized me in front of my new family in Christ. He would say, life is what you make of it. Pastor Bill's leadership lead me down a path that has been a blessing far beyond what I could have ever dreamed! As an adult I often speak of Bill's friendship and the gift he shared with me. I spoke to Bill later in life and thanked him for sharing the word of God with me. As I say goodbye to Pastor Bill he will never know how many lives he touched! I will miss you my friend. God now has a new Angel by his side...

Dear Family,
My memories of your Dad and Mom are sweet. When I was in seminary he was there to encourage and allow me to speak at church. Always the encourager. When difficult days came he was there and supportive. He was a pastor and shepherd me and my family. I thank the Lord for them both and pray that I wil be able to serve Eastwood with the vision he established it. May the Lord comfort your hearts with the truth he has graduated and in now in the presence of our Lord.
In Him,
Brady "Butch" Lipscomb

From the look on Bill's face in this picture shows the king of life Bill lived. Worked for him, one of the most wonderful people, whom I've ever meet. Your loss heaven's gain.
