Deborah Lynn BellDeborah Lynn Bell 56, of Hurricane, WV passed away January 4, 2011 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was employed with Teays Valley Dental Care as the Queen Bee. She was born March 14, 1954 in Huntington, West Virginia, a daughter of Jean Rickman Scragg Cornwell of Hurricane, and the late William Mahaffey. She was also preceded in death by a step-child, David Vinson Bell. She is also survived by her husband, Dr. David L. Bell; one daughter, Andrea Oertel of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; one son, Phillip Brian Berry, of Northern Virginia; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth L. and Cindy Mahaffey of Lawrenceville, Georgia; six grandchildren, Jake and Cole Oertel, Haleigh, Daniel, and Ryan Berry, and Samantha Midkiff; nephew, Matthew Mahaffey; father-in-law, Dr. William V. Bell and his wife Vivian of Milton; mother-in-law, Murle Shepard of Huntington; and step-father, Richard Cornwell of Hurricane, WV; other mother-in-law, Linday Mahaffey of Huntington, W.Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Deborah Bell of Huntington, W.Va. The family would especially like to thank the 5 West staff of Cabell Huntington Hospital for their love and care of Deborah during her illness. Memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor David Cartwright. Visitation will be one hour before services on Saturday. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1700 MacCorkle Avenue, SE 3rd Floor, Charleston, WV 25314.

Dear David and Jean: I have known Jean for years, when we both lived in Barboursville. I would see Deborah in Kroger's when I worked there. I was so sorry to hear of her illness and death. Dr. Bell there really are no words to express how saddened we are in the passing of Debbie. We feel your pain and pray that God will be ever so close to you during this trying time.
