 Lois Marie Stevenson, 80, of Barboursville, WV, went home to join her husband on Saturday, January 29, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Bishop Tony Edmonds. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born December 12, 1930 in Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Elmer Franklin Beatty and Parilee Susan Sloan Beatty. She was also preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Charles William Stevenson, and two brothers, Harold Beatty and Howard Beatty. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a retired employee of Piece Goods. She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne M. Dillon of Louisville, KY and Charlotte K. Combs and her husband Steve of Orange Park, FL; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Iris Vicky Stevenson of Gallipolis Ferry, WV and Charles R. and Mildred Mickey Stevenson of Ansted, WV; a special caregiver, Lynne Stevenson, ten grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011. So sorry to hear of Lois's passing. Lois and Charles were people I knew my whole life growing up in WV. I'm thankful to have known Lois. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I have always admired Lois for many reasons, one of which was her learning to play the piano after she was 40 because the church needed someone. She was a great lady and it makes me happy to think that she and Charles are together again.

Hope it cheers your and your wife's heart to know she has gone home to be with her husband and her Savior.
