Clifton McKinley Brooks Jr.Clifton McKinley Brooks, Jr. 69, Barboursville, WV, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Rick Glass. He was born October 1, 1943 in Huntington, a son of the late Clifton M. Brooks, Sr. and Agnes Taylor Brooks. He was retired from the US Navy, Hauni Richmond, Richmond, Virginia, and a member of Elmwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly and Grace Brooks. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Judy Edwards Brooks; one daughter, Tracy Brooks of Richmond, VA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gregory and Lori Brooks of Alaska and Timothy Brooks of Barboursville; one sister, Joni Brooks, Virginia and one grandchild, Austin Brooks. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elmwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 3045 Martha Rd., Barboursville, WV 25504 Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com./wallace.

Cliff and Judy Brooks were the best neibors anyone could ask for when they lived on our road in Mechanicsville, VA. Doug met Cliff first. He was always friendly and willing to lend a helping hand. Cliff worked long & hard hours for his family and was a good father. He and Judy had a good life here, but also some hard burdens to bare. I remember when their daughter, Grace, died so young in college in a sledding accident. Cliff did his best to hold up the rest of the family and even spoke at Gracie's funeral. I know he is happy to be finally home with his Lord Jesus Christ and his girls who went to Heaven before him. Judy has been and will continue to be prayed for. She is a wonderful mother and friend. That is obvious when you meet their children. We look forward to all being together again in Heaven. What a glorious time that will be!
