 Matthew Carl Burd, 35, of Lesage, WV, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was born February 5, 1987 in Huntington, WV, son of Lisa Burd Carey and Brett Carey. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Homer Burd. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Leslie Jeanette Burd of Lesage; two brothers, Dalton Cole Carey of Lesage and Kent Carey of Huntington; his maternal grandmother, Priscilla Burd of Lesage; two special uncles, Travis Burd and Homer Burd II, both of Huntington; three aunts; and a host of cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with Pastor Hewlett Trogdon officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

than you for mrs. Copley told me about he passed away yesterday . i am so very very sorry i felt sad dont know no expect he is so very young man he is very sweet man he and me talk into facebook . he is very nice man well all we missed him i knew Matthew was going church at grace gospel church years ago.. i knew aslo his sister is deaf her name is Leslie . i was teach sign lanuages class at care day center in huntington ,W.V. with Mary White when matthew 2 was 2 years old and her sister Leslie 3 or 4 yrs old . i knew i am sure he will be in heaven met our pasfor Jim Asbury in heaven fore sure . praying for all Burd family and Carey family too send flowers for Matthew Burd
