Dilla Adkins Coleman Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1936 - 2024 Dilla Adkins Coleman, 88, of Barboursville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born January 25, 1936, in Wayne, WV, daughter of the late Jonah Gilkerson and Dora Brooks Gilkerson. Dilla was the last of 13 children. She was also preceded in death by her husbands Harlan Adkins and Charles Coleman; one daughter, Susan Adkins; brothers, Jonah Gilkerson Jr., James Gilkerson, Jay Gilkerson, Billy Gilkerson, and half brother, Sterling Gilkerson; sisters, Esta Adkins, Thelma Davis, May Bradshaw, Ada Gilkerson, Lillian Dillon, Betty Adkins, Marie Adkins, and Rosella Adkins. She is survived by her daughter Sheila Deal; grandchildren Matthew Deal, Mark Deal, Zach Deal; great-grandchildren Beau Deal and Anna Deal. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Bill Blankenship. Burial will be in Bowen Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

I am sorry for your loss. My name is Nancy and I work for the Deli at Food Fair. Dilla was an everyday customer. When we didn't see her we became worried. Loved hearing her stories. I pray for peace and comfort during this trying time. Dilla will be missed.
