Peggy N. Maxey, 89, of Milton, WV, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024. Graveside services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Forest Memorial Park, Milton, by Pastor Jim Butcher. She was born July 10, 1935, in Princewick, WV, a daughter of the late William and Mattie Mae Bailey Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wallace Maxey; son, Michael Dean Maxey; granddaughter, Kia Maxey; and sister, Betty Payne. She was retired from the Cabell County Board of Education where she was a cook for 21 years. She is survived by two sons, Randy Maxey (Teresa) and Doug Maxey (Michelle); two brothers, Moody Hill and Bobby Hill; grandchildren, Drew Maxey (Whitney), Josh Maxey (Breann), Ryan Akers (Ryan) and Mikey Maxey (Mindy); great-grandchildren, Bella Akers, Bowen Akers, Blane Akers, Blair Akers, Taelor Shank, Jaelie Shank, Aedyn Shank, Marley Maxey, Alex McGinnis, Joshua Maxey, Dylan Maynard, Karsyn Maxey, Kenzie Finley, and Austin Finley; and special niece, Karen Edwards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday prior to the graveside service. Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, is assisting the family.
