James Lee Blankenship, 65, of Barboursville, WV, passed away November 14, 2024. James was born February 24, 1959, in Huntington, WV, son of Margaret Bowman Blankenship and the late Douglas Blankenship. He was also preceded in death by one son Patrick Tyler Blankenship. He is survived by two sons Jacob Blankenship (Brittany) of Chesapeake, OH and Matthew Blankenship (Billie) of Ashland, KY; four brothers, Dougie Blankenship (Carrie) of Barboursville, Mark Blankenship of Ft. Myers, FL, Brent Blankenship (Tracie) of Barboursville and Danny Joe Blankenship of Huntington; four grandchildren Gabriella, Peyton, Cameron and Marshall.

Jim Lee had a lot of loves in his life including his community, his family, his sons, grandchildren, his brothers and most of all, his mother.

Many will remember him for his passion for motorsports of all kinds. Jim was also an icon in the Barboursville community at the Little League field and beyond. Another one of his great loves was to cook and bring everyone together for all types of events. He will be sorely missed but his memory will live on forever.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, by Pastor Jeff Lycans. Burial will be in Swann Cemetery, Barboursville, WV. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Jim Lee was truly my first love when I was a young 13-14 yr old teenager. I have seen his m multiple times throughout the years and most recently with the passing of Tyler. So so many amazing memories. RIP Jim Lee and thank you.
