David Allen Edmunds “Yogi”, 85, of Barboursville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2024, from complications due to esophageal cancer and pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on August 10, 1939, in Huntington, WV, son of Walter Edmunds, Jr. and Verna Riddle-Edmunds-Boley. He departs his loving wife of 63 years, Sharon Sue Hicks-Edmunds; two daughters, Parthena Edmunds Booton, her husband Kevin, and Jannifer Jo Edmunds-Hurt (J.J.); one son, David Andrew Edmunds; stepbrother, John Duncan, his wife Sandi and stepsister, Sue Napier, her husband, Okey; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In 1964, he started his own business, he was the owner of Edmunds Exc., Building and Rental Contractor, C&E Construction Development of Linmont Estates, and C&E Asphalt Co. During his lifetime, he was affiliated with many organizations within the Tri-State area, one being the former President of the Tri-State Homebuilders Association. He faithfully attended Trinity Church of God. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025 with funeral following at 11 a.m. at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. John Duncan.
