Margaret Lee Blankenship of Barboursville, WV, peacefully went to be with her Lord after a glorious life of 91 years on Saturday, January 11, 2025. She was one of five daughters of the late Robert and Caries Bowman of Lesage, WV. Margaret was born July 8, 1933 in Cabell County, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas W. Blankenship, her dear son James Lee Blankenship and her grandson Patrick Tyler Blankenship, a sister, Thelma Duffey, a sister Evelyn McComas of Washington State and a sister, Reva Lawler of Indiana. She was a faithful founding member of the Livingstone Missionary Baptist Church in Barboursville, WV. She was cherished by her children, surviving, Douglas W. Blankenship II (Carrie) of Barboursville, WV, Mark Allen Blankenship of Thailand, David Brent Blankenship (Tracy) of Barboursville, WV, and Danny Joe Blankenship of Huntington, WV; grandchildren, Jacob Blankenship, Sean Blankenship, Joshua Blankenship, Matthew Blankenship, Jeremy Blankenship, Coty Blankenship, Stephen Blankenship, Garrett Blankenship, Presley Blankenship-Young; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anna Hatfield of Huntington, WV.
Her family and friends and community will greatly miss her, but are looking forward to reuniting with her in Heaven and our Lord and Savior.
Visitation and Funeral Service will be held, Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Funeral immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Jeff Lycans, and Clint Brown.
Burial service at Swann Cemetery for immediate family members.
