It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vickie Garcia, beloved daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Vickie departed this world peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the age of 74.
Born on March 7, 1950, to Betty and Thomas Hawes, Vickie was raised with love and care by her grandparents in Huntington, West Virginia. Her upbringing instilled in her a deep sense of family, resilience, and compassion that she carried throughout her life.
In her adult years, Vickie moved to California, where she raised her three cherished children, Bryan Garcia, Scott Garcia, and Ashley Garcia, alongside her devoted husband, Augusto Garcia. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother whose kindness and wisdom were a guiding light for her family.
Vickie’s warmth and generosity touched all who knew her. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, who will forever remember her infectious laughter, unwavering support, and the joy she brought to their lives.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Vickie’s life will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, West Virginia, with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects as they say goodbye to a remarkable woman who left a lasting legacy of love and kindness.
Vickie’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her best. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
