Robert "Bobby" Eugene Johnson, 74, of Salt Rock, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at his residence on January 26, 2025, with family by his side. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Johnson, Jr. and mother Mazel Bailey-Johnson, as well as two brothers, baby George Johnson and Myrle Edward Bailey. A 1969 Barboursville High School graduate, Bobby went on to have a fulfilling career, retiring from Heiner’s Bakery after fourteen years of service. He shared his life with his loving wife Loyce and together they built a beautiful life on the farm where Bobby grew up. They nurtured a deep love for the land, raising a garden, canning their own vegetables and caring for their beloved farm animals. Bobby’s legacy lives on through his loving wife of 39 years, Loyce Johnson; three children, Erika Johnson, South Point, OH, Melissa Adkins, Huntington, WV, and Kevin Salmons (Misty), Huston, PA; and three grandchildren, Zoie Bouniady, Colton Salmons and Ireland Salmons. He is survived by two sisters, Darlene McCallister (Bo), Salt Rock, WV, and Arlene Perry (Marvin), Barboursville, WV. A special thank you to his family, neighbors, friends, and church family for the outpouring of love, support, kindness and prayers. Our foundation of strength has been attributed to God working through each one of you. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, WV, and after 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. The funeral will be held at Susannah Missionary Baptist Church, Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. It will be officiated by Pastor Steve Hinkle and Brother Bill Spears. Bobby will be laid to rest at White Chapel Memorial Gardens following the funeral service. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to pay their respects, celebrating Bobby’s life and sharing memories.
