1945 - 2025
Karen Sue Yeager Turman went to see her Savior on January 23, 2025. She was met at the pearly gates by her husband of 60 years, Paul Turman, Sr., her father and mother, Minnis and Gladys Yeager, her father and mother-in-law, Bill and Mary Turman, and her brothers, Jack and Chuck Yeager. She is survived by her two sons, Paul Jr. (Lorri) and Tom (Patty), and her daughter Teresa Blake; her sister-in-law, Barbara Yeager, and her brother and sister-in-law Waymond and Peggy Turman; her grandchildren, Megan (Nick) Anuszkiewicz, Bryan (Katy) Turman, Laura Blake (Mohamed Suliman), Lee Blake, William and Olivia Turman; her great-grandchildren, Emery and Benjamin Anuszkiewicz, who brought her so much joy; as well as many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. Karen was a graduate of Barboursville High School class of 1963. Karen’s life was a living testimony to her Lord and Savior. She was a lifelong member of Steele Memorial United Methodist Church where she held so many roles: organist for more than 65 years, Sunday school teacher, ladies circle chair and leader, overseer of the flower ministry, choir member, and organizer of many bereavement dinners for families. For a while, she donated her talents to play for church services at the Barboursville Veterans Home. Perhaps her greatest gift was her dedication and commitment to those less fortunate whether physically, financially, emotionally or spiritually. She went about spreading Christ’s love and compassion quietly without fanfare. She babysat countless children and cooked hundreds of meals for the sick, elderly and grieving. She was a constant source of laughter and joy for her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the service. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Pea Ridge. Donations in memory of Karen can be made to the Huntington City Mission or Gideon’s International. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
