
Ellis Bailey, 64, of Barboursville, went into the arms of Jesus on March 24, 2025. He was born in Lincoln County, West Virginia. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a lifelong member of Highlawn Baptist Church and then Antioch Baptist Church. He started his career in management, then later in life, went to nursing school to become an RN. He spent his entire career at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Lavona Bailey; his sisters, Carol Curry and Vickie Bailey; and his brother, Tony Bailey. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Vanessa Bailey; his two daughters, Courtney (Ryan) Huffstutler and Chelsea (C.J.) Machniak; his three grandchildren, Allie, Sadie, and Nathan Huffstutler; his siblings, Kay Lewis, Goldie (Randy) Woodrum, Wanda (Jeff) Spence, and Homer (Tammy) Bailey; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to his Oncologist, Dr. Bir, and his staff also, to his other doctors and special friends, Dr. Maru and Dr. Cansino, and to all his exceptional co-workers for all their love and support. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Friday, March 28, 2025 at Antioch Baptist Church by his son-in-law, Pastor C.J. Machniak. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, and after 11:00 a.m. at the church.
