 Clovis Martin Johnson, 85, passed away May 19, 2025 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m Friday, May 23, 2025 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Pastor Ted Nance. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born October 17, 1939, a son of the late Morris and Helen McComas Johnson. He was a heavy equipment operator in construction and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 132 for 63 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Johnson; one son Clovis Johnson Jr.; and two brothers Russell Johnson and John Johnson. He is survived by one daughter Lora Dawn Smith (Tony) of Lesage; and one granddaughter Kayla Smith-Leung (Gabe); two sisters Benita Simpson of Huntington and Myrtle Gillium of Circleville; and two brothers Gaylord Johnson (Eilean) of Milton and Wayne Johnson (Paula) of Milton. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

I LOVE AND WILL MISS MY BROTHER (THE OLD GROUCH) VERY MUCH BUT HE IS WITH JUNIOR WHO WAS HIS REASON FOR GETTING OUT OF BED FOR YEARS. CLOVIS TOOK CARE OF JUNIOR AND TOOK HIM EVERYWHERE THAT HE WENT SO WHEN BUGGY DIED CLOVIS LOST HIS REASON TO GET OUT OF BED. NOW THEY ARE TOGETHER AGAIN.
