Bittner Llewellyn Ballard, 87, of Barboursville, passed away July 26, 2025. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Dr. I. Mark Conner. Burial will be in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar. He was born January 5, 1938 in Marmet, WV, a son of the late Othar Claude Ballard and Clarrissa Stumbo Rollins. He retired with 22 years of service from the United States Navy. He served in Vietnam where he was awarded the U.S. Navy Air Medal Award. He also served on the Admiral staff in the Middle East. He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher and brothers, Dwight and Gordon Ballard. Bittner is survived by his wife, Peggy Dodds Ballard; daughter, Tammy Winters (Rodney) of Kenna, WV; sons, Scott Ballard (Amber) of Parkersburg and Terry Ballard (Juliana) of Boones Mill, VA; sisters-in-law, Barbara Ballard of South Charleston and Julia Bolling of Barboursville; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be one hour before services at Wallace Funeral Home.
