1944 - 2025
STANTON EVERMONT EAVES, 81, of East Lynn, WV, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born on January 19, 1944, a son of the late Kenny and Angie Eaves. Also preceding him in death were his nine siblings – Lettie, Ebbo, Spicie, Orville, Leslie, Thelma, Vanie, Robert, and Kenneth. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce (Stapleton) Eaves – they had a love for one another like no other. Together they had five children – one daughter, Kathy (Steve) Taylor of Huntington, WV; four sons, Jeff of Rush, KY, Ricky, Gary and Danny (DeeDee) all of East Lynn, WV; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Stanton’s love of playing bluegrass music, spending time with his family and friends, his old cars and trucks, and going to car shows are just a few things he enjoyed most in life. But he and Joyce had much love for one another, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, officiated by Homer Adkins and Pastor Jesse Lacy. Burial will be in Stanton Eaves Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. I am sorry for your loss. I always loved to listen to Stanton and his brothers play music and sing. I can't believe all the children are gone now. Prayers for Joyce and family. Prayers.

Stanton taught me the G chord on the guitar and he used to make sure the snakes didn’t get me when I would mow the hillside between papaw’s house and theirs. I always loved listening to him play music.
