1967 - 2025

David Lionel SticklerDavid Lionel Stickler, 58, formerly of Bidwell, OH, passed away on November 3, 2025 at The Jordan Center, Louisa, KY after an extended illness. He was born on September 15, 1967 to William L. Stickler and the late Charlie W. (Stickler) Rickman.

He graduated from Barboursville High School where he played baseball and football. After graduation, David served in the US Army as a diesel mechanic stationed in Newport News, VA, and also served in Korea, Camp Humphreys with the 60th Transportation Maintenance Platoon as shop foreman and wrecker operator.

Upon honorably completing his military service, he went on to become a master mechanic with Harley Davidson repairing and building motorcycles fulfilling his life-long love of motorcycles. He loved to ride and traveled many miles with friends even completing the famous Tail of the Dragon. David found great joy giving of his time and energy to others, always helping whenever he could. David also found enjoyment in his hobbies of gardening, restoring guns, reloading ammo, participating in shooting matches and supporting motorcycle and gun clubs. David was very skilled mechanically using his hands to fix and restore motorcycles, guns or whatever project he set his sights on. His great sense of humor brought us laughter, joy and light-heartedness through the years and even towards the end.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-father Jack Rickman.

He is survived by his father, brother Michael (Thelma) Stickler, sister Jennifer (Lee) Adams, niece Ashley Maynard, step-daughters Tara Lahrmer, Crissy Thomas, their mother Betty Stickler and several grand and great-grand children, as well as many friends and family who will deeply miss him and cherish his memory.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center, Huntington, WV, The Jordan Center nursing facility of Louisa, KY, and Community Hospice of Ashland, KY for their compassionate and dignified care.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
