1963 - 2025

Lionel Scott DaltonLionel Scott Dalton, 62 of West Hamlin, WV, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Scott was born on February 18, 1963 in Huntington, WV, to the late Dallas and Sarah Dalton of Harts, WV. He graduated from Harts High School in 1981, joined the United States Air Force in June of 1982 to May of 1986. He later moved to NC where he raised a family and worked as a printing press operator. He then traveled back home to WV where he began his career as a Coal miner. After the mines shut down he joined the IBEW 317 in Huntington, WV, where he was still employed.

Scott loved the outdoors and spent his free time in the woods coon hunting for many years. He was a master on his Pit Boss Smoker, enjoyed bonfires and playing corn hole. He and Pam loved to ride their Harley Davidson on the backroads of WV and wherever their adventures took them with family and friends and anyone who wanted to join.

Scott’s favorite thing to do was spend time with his son Dustin and watching his grandson Dylan play football, basketball, baseball and track. He didn’t want to miss a game or any event. He was so proud of Dylan and to be his Papaw.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Sarah (Meeks) Dalton and his father-in-law to be, Carl Eden and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Scott leaves behind his son, Dustin and his wife Melody; granddaughter, Kiera Manchester; and grandson, Dylan Dalton of Hurricane, WV. He also leaves behind his fiancé and true love of 17 years, Pam Eden; her children, Zack (Sierra) Edens; grandsons Knox and Elias of Barboursville, WV and Lindsay Jarrell of Austin, Texas; his mother-in-law to be, Beverly Eden of Barboursville, WV; a sister, Tena (Brent) Townsend; nephew, Matt (Heather) Wilson; great-niece, Suri and great-nephew, Silas; his niece, Natalie (Max) Barlowe; and great-niece, Emarie, all of NC. Scott will be missed by his cousin and best friend, Grover Dalton, long time friend, Mike Griffee, his best buddy, Danny Pratt and the late Richard Shatley. Two surviving uncles, Pete Dalton and Gary Meeks, many cousins, work buddies from New River Energy and co-workers from the IBEW 317 in Huntington, WV.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, 1159 Central Avenue, Barboursville, WV. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. with the funeral beginning at 3:00 p.m. by Mike Griffee.
