Richard Mervin Black Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1948 - 2026 Richard Mervin Black, 77, of Barboursville, passed away January 2, 2026 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born May 18, 1948, in Huntington, a son of the late Mervin and Lois Welch Black. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during Vietnam. He is survived by one daughter, Briannon Black of Huntington; two sons, Shanan Black and his wife Rachelle of Barboursville and Brandon Black of Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren, Devyn Neuman, Kaitylyn Ridley, Harlie Black, Skylar Black and Michayla Black; and three grandchildren, Nova Neuman, Aiden Ridley and Harper Ridley. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
