Stanford Hobert “Hobie” Chapman, 88, of Ona, passed away February 21, 2026. He was born February 13, 1938, in Ashton, WV, son of the late Garrett Hobert Chapman and Elsie Ellen Perry Chapman. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Isabell Chapman, Donald Hershal Chapman, Willa “Edna” Baumgardner, Randall Eugene Chapman, Billy Joe Chapman, Paul Kimper Chapman, and John David Chapman. He is survived by his wife Shirley Mae Morrison Chapman; daughter Jennifer Caynor; grandchildren, Jackson, Jason and Justin Caynor; great grandchildren, Jaylee, Brooklyn, Jaxxy and Josie; sister Barbara Kay Camp (Bill); brothers Robert “Bob” Chapman, Garrett “Keith” Chapman (Ingram), and Orbie Thomas “Tom” Chapman (Donnie). Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor Mark Finley and Pastor Simon Morrison. Entombment will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.
