Charles "Chuck" I. Jones, Jr. Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1949 - 2026 Charles “Chuck” I. Jones, Jr., age 78, of Charleston, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026. He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on April 2, 1949 to Charles and Ruth Jones. Chuck moved to West Virginia and worked as a lawyer in Charleston. He will be remembered for his devotion to family as well as his musical talents as the organist at his church. Chuck was also well-known as an avid cyclist and was a member of the Shrine and Freemasons. His strong and colorful character, legacy of kindness, and commitment to his community will continue in the lives of all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Gaytha, son Chad, and grandchildren Audrey and Hank. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charleston on September 26, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is assisting the family. Mary and I are very sad to learn of Chuck's passing. Chuck was in our wedding in Huntington in 1988. I met Chuck in law school in 1972, and I am honored to know him. We will keep him and all of you in our prayers always. Love, Tom and Mary

So sorry for your loss. I enjoyed playing trombone with Chuck in the Shriners Gold Band. He was a good man.
