With the heaviest of hearts, we share the passing of Linda Louise Adkins, known as "Gigi" by her family. Linda was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and most of all, our best friend who passed away on October 17, 2026, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House surrounded by the love of her family - including her beloved companion, Poppy, who never left her side. She was born November 10, 1952, in Huntington, WV, to Jennings and Lulie Adkins. She is survived by her two daughters, Verhonda Sue (Stevie) Day and Kelly Dawn (Steve) Perry; nine grandchildren, April, Kelinda, Kenny, Brandi, Kyle, Lauren, Jessica, Jason, and Tara, as well as an abundance of great-grandchildren; two sisters Ella and Shirley; and two brothers Johnney and Arthur. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jennings and Lulie, her daughter, Michelle Ann Messinger "Shelly", three sisters, Mary, Freda Mae, and Dreama, and four brothers Richard, Willis, Jackie, and Eugene. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Jerry Shaw. Burial will be in Bowen Cemetery, Huntington.
