Betty Arlene Childers Triplett, 86, of Salt Rock, WV, went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2025 with her loving daughter by her side. Betty was born on July 24, 1938 to Henry and Edith Childers. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilburn H. Triplett Jr., her parents, and siblings, Carnis, Atchley, "Johnny", and Irene.
Betty’s true joy in life was her family. She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Jana Rooney, her doting son-in-law, Danny Rooney, and the light of her life, her grandson John Rooney. She had several nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and many friends who were all very special to her. She is also survived by her niece, Jennifer Ross, who was like a daughter to her, and Flo Harner, a friend of 60 plus years. Betty began her career as an English and Business teacher and later retired from the City National Bank in West Hamlin. She volunteered in the gift shop of St. Mary’s Medical Center for 10 years. Her most favorite job was babysitting "Momo’s boy." She was strong in her faith and attended many churches over the years, most recently Salt Rock Community Church, where she was loved by her Church family. Betty was also a member of Hamlin Chapter 106 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She and her husband, Junior, had a devoted marriage, spending all their time together. She also enjoyed traveling with Jana, lunches at the Diner, laughing at a good story, and singing hymns. Betty had a way of making everyone around her feel special and genuinely loved.
A celebration of her life will be held at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel in Barboursville, WV, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 with Pastor Jason Salmons and Pastor Matt Fulks officiating. Visitation will be held beforehand from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Triplett Cemetery, Branchland. The family would like to thank Dr. Shawn Coffman, the nurses and staff of MS2 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, and the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their compassionate care.
