Janie Lou (Preston) Blake went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2025 at the age of 82. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and cherished friend to many. She was a devoted wife to Bob for over 62 years and they had an extraordinary life together.
Janie was born in Kenova, WV on April 20, 1943, to the parents of Robert and Ethel Preston. She attended Marshall University working toward a teaching degree. However, 18 years later she would go back to St. Mary’s Nursing School and become a Registered Nurse where she made a lasting impact on several lives for 20 years until she retired.
Janie was preceded in death by her parents and William Preston (brother). She is survived by her loving husband of over 62 years, Robert Blake Jr., Robert Preston (Pat) brother, Sue Howell (sister), three children, Jennifer Namey (daughter), Robert Blake III (son), Aaron Blake (Julie) son, six grandchildren, Rachel Sallade (Zach), Zach Namey (Emma), Laura Blake, Lee Blake, Lawson Blake, Taylor Blake, and two great-grandchildren, Faith and Florence.
A celebration of life will be held at Elmwood Missionary Baptist Church, 1900 Martha Road, Barboursville, WV 25504 on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Visitation will be 11 a.m. with services beginning at 1 p.m. Burial service will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
