On April 19, 1952, she married Walter H. "Huppy" Warren, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2006. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Charleston, where Lola worked as a legal secretary and later served on the staff of the West Virginia State Senate during legislative sessions.
In 1967, the family moved to Culloden, where Lola and her husband became owners of
Highland Insurance in Huntington.

She is survived by two sons, Walter H. Warren III and wife Sue-Beth of Wheeling, West Virginia, and Stuart P. Warren and wife Carla of Winfield, West Virginia. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and several dear nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends Nancy Hunter, Marcy Stowers, and Jesse Wilburn.
Lola was an avid reader and a devoted player of bridge and Scrabble. She loved grammar, poetry, and the written word, held a deep interest in social justice, and treasured lively family gatherings filled with conversation, food, and laughter. She enjoyed sharing that she, her sister Linda, and her oldest grandson Chris Chapman were all winners of the West Virginia Golden Horseshoe.
She was a devoted member of St. Timothy's-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church in Hurricane, West Virginia, where she served faithfully in many roles over the years.
