Ruth Ann Nicely, 78, of Branchland, WV, passed away January 13, 2026. She was born January 1, 1948, in Huntington, WV, daughter of the late William Harless and Genevieve Williamson Cardwell. She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Anna "Mom" Williamson; brothers, Larry Harless (Janet) and Rick Carter; and mother-in-law, Sadie Nicely. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Carl "Odell" Nicely; three children, Anita Johnson, and Nancy Gue (Terry), both of Branchland, Anthony Nicely (Dreama) of Shady Springs, WV; two sisters, Gloria Castle (Roland) and Lisa Blake (Jim); grandchildren, Joshua Nicely, Cody Gue (Nena), Ally Napier (Taylor), Haylee Beckelheimer (Kadin) and Brooke Owens (Dylan); seven great-grandchildren and one on the way who were the loves of her life; two special nieces, Teresa Hicks (Montie) and Terrie Smith (Bill); and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Jason McComas. Burial will be in Nicely Home Cemetery, Branchland.
