Robert Charles Smith Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1948 - 2026 Robert Charles Smith, 77, of Milton, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 18, 2026. He was born July 10, 1948 in Milton, W.Va., a son of the late, Gilbert Smith and Jessie Fletcher Smith Epling. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Dempsey and his siblings, Alice Hudnell and Gilbert Junior Smith. He is survived by his companion, Courtney Midkiff; sister, Loretta Hysell; grandsons, Luke Dempsey and Mason Dempsey (Akari); great grandson, Miles Dempsey and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. with Minister Danny Evans officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Online condolences may be sent to www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

I am so sorry for your loss Courtney and the family. I think Bob 1and I became friends from the first day we met and I am coing to miss all of the special coffee drinking times we had at the store, over the years we became close friends and we spent alot of times talking abou⅕t everything and I I talked to him the you passed away, when we hung up the phone something in side of me told me I should have told you that I loved you so much for always being there for me ... but I didn't ... but I think we both felt that bond in our friendship. I will miss him and things will never be the same again. With all my love to everyone for there loss. Barney
