Francis James Chandler, 87, of Milton, WV, passed away March 11, 2026. He was born October 12, 1938, in Peru, Indiana, son of the late George and Thena Jane Patterson Chandler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Andrew Joseph, one sister Mary Catherine and one brother Richard Chandler. He is survived by his wife Diane Gail Desaix Chandler; two sons Sean Chandler (Jodi) and David Chandler (Christine); grandchildren Christopher Chandler, Alexandria Chandler, Caielah Chandler; great grandchildren Rowan A. Chandler and Elyana Spears. They were married at Our Lady of Fatima on November 20, 1965 and have been married 60 years. He was a 28 year veteran retired spanning the United States Marine Corps, Army Reserves, and the National Guard. He served as a signalman, conductor, and senior operations manager for various railroads. Funeral mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Ona, WV, by Father Upendra Rayapudi. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Stephen Catholic Church.
