“93 years full of love, grace, and faith” - With heavy hearts of sorrow and gratitude we announce the passing of our precious mother, Rose Anna “Polly” Hill, who made her final journey surrounded by her loving children on May 16, 2026.
A woman of beauty, faith and strength who lived her 93 years defined by devotion. Devoted to her Lord and Savior, family, and friends expressed through unwavering loyalty and sacrifice and her dedication to helping others.
She was a talented seamstress, hairdresser, crochet expert, master alto singer, and an old time yodeler! It was a given when we were together we would be singing hymns in harmony until we had no voice.
Mommy was born and raised in Barboursville on July 21, 1932, a devoted daughter to the late Ruby Algeo Ward and John Pridemore. She was predeceased by her husband Harry Hill, son Rick Bledsoe, grandson John Butcher II, half brother Danny Pridemore, half sisters Othella “Pug” Ryder, Lora Harless, and Wilma Wolfe.
She would be quick to tell you the greatest loves of her life were Her Lord and her children. Left to mourn and cherish her memory are daughters, Rosetta Butcher, Gail Hill, and Vicki Hill of Barboursville, P.J. Stratton (Carlos) of West Hamlin, sons, Harry Hill, Matt Hill, and Greg Hill of Barboursville, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, half brothers Robert and Jimmy Pridemore, half sister Olive Pridemore, and many family and friends.
Her children are deeply grateful to caregivers Holly and Pat, for their compassion and kindness, along with anyone else contributing to their mother’s care during such a difficult time.
Her fervent prayer would be that by His mercy and grace, we would all meet her in Heaven.
Proverbs 31:29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
