Elder Jimmy Lester, 85, of Huntington, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2024 at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Elder Donald Childers and Elder John Gilkerson. Burial will be in Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne. He was born August 4, 1939 in Wayne County, a son of the late Elihu and Dorothy Canterbury Lester. He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Lester; two daughters, Shelby Jean Lester and Sandra Asbury; brothers, Elihu Lester Jr., Millard Lester, and Spurgeon Lester. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Stephen and Tonya Lester of Sevierville, TN; brother, Garfield Lester of East Lynn, and sister, Dottie Adkins of Branchland; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Jimmy became a member of Millers Fork United Baptist Church on July 2, 1961 and was ordained to preach on June 19, 1977. He served as Moderator and Evangelist for Bethlehem Association.
