Catherine  SwannCatherine Swann, 66, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Catherine was a devoted mother, grandmother, homemaker and woman of God. Her Christian faith was the compass for everything she did. She raised her children and grandchildren with values of kindness, prayer and service, leaving behind a legacy of faith that will continue to guide her family for generations to come. She was born August 23, 1959 in Beckley, W.Va., a daughter of the late, Paul James Cooper and Nellie Tipane Cooper. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Gary Swann and by three brothers, Paul Cooper, David Cooper and Chris Cooper. She is survived by five daughters, Alyssa Stewart, Amber Freeman, Kaity Swann, Angie Swann-Innis and Cristina Swann-Rodriguez (Louis); four sons, Adam Sturgeon (Megan), Anthony Swann (Maleea), Seth Swann and Josh Swann; two sisters, Mary Cooper Sowards and Jane Anne Cooper; one brother, William Cooper; eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Our Lady of Fatima, Huntington. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Fatima. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
